Students living in New Fairview attend school in either the Decatur or Northwest Independent School Districts. The northwestern section of the City, Chisholm Hills Subdivision, attend Decatur schools. The majority of the City attend one of the numerous schools in the Northwest ISD. Weatherford College Wise County Campus offers a local higher education option for those in the Wise Couty area. It is currently located at 307 South Cates in Decatur. A new campus will open for the Fall 2012 Semester. The new campus is located between Decatur and Bridgeport on US 380 at the intersection of FM 1655.
New Fairview ETJ
The City of New Fairview adopted an ad valorem property tax a September 9, 2019, for the 2019 tax year. The first property tax bills will go out October 1, 2019.

Wise Regional Health System is located 14 miles north of New Fairview in Decatur. The hospital has the only American Academy of Pediatrics designated Level IIA Nursery in the region. They are proud to have received Chest Pain Center Accreditation from the Society of Chest Pain Centers. The American Society for Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery has designated Wise Regional Health System a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence.
