City Fireworks Information

City of New Fairview fireworks are allowed July 2,3, & 4th between the hours of 2pm to 11pm

The county Fire Marshall can stop all fireworks within the county, but it is a day-to-day situation based on the National Weather Service fire and wind warnings. Everyone should check their appropriate county:

Wise County: check the Wise County Fire Marshall Facebook page or call 940-627-5870 Option 4.

Denton County: check Denton County Emergency Services Facebook page or call 940-349-2840.

ARTICLE 6.03 FIREWORKS*

Sec. 6.03.001     Area of jurisdiction

The provisions of this article shall apply to all territory within the city limits. (Ordinance 2006-01-108, sec. I, adopted 1/5/06)

Sec. 6.03.002     Definitions

Fireworks. Any sparkler, bottle rocket, skyrockets, torpedoes, squibs, fire balloons, star shells, gerbs, firecracker, roman candle, smoke bomb, or any other device used to obtain a visible or audible pyrotechnic display, explosion, deflagration or detonation. Sec. 6.03.003     Penalty

Any person who violates a provision of this article shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction shall be subject to a fine in accordance with the general penalty provided in section 1.01.009 of this code. (Ordinance 2006-01-108, sec. IV, adopted 1/5/06; Ordinance adopting Code)

Sec. 6.03.004     Discharge of fireworks

Fireworks may be discharged within the city limits on the following days and times only if there is not a burn ban in effect set by the county:

(1)     July 2nd, 3rd, 4th: 2:00 p.m. through 11:00 p.m.

(2)     December 29th and 30th: 2:00 p.m. through 11:00 p.m.

(3)     December 31st 2:00 p.m. through January 1st 1:00 a.m.
